Historians from different countries expressed their enthusiasm for the congress.        

        Professor David D. Buck, member of the World History Association, wrote a letter to Professor Wang Yuji of Shandong University. He said it would be wonderful for historians across the world to meet in Shandong, an important region in both ancient and early modern Chinese history.

        In the letter to Specially Invited Professor of Shandong University Gerhard Tiedemann, Professor Robert Bickers expressed his pleasure to hear the 22nd ICHS was going to be held in Jinan. He stated that the congress would be a strong opportunity for academic interaction. The Director of the British Inter-University China Centre said, “With growing interest overseas in making connections with Chinese scholars, the 22nd CISH represents a very strong opportunity for interaction and discussion, and the sharing of knowledge and ideas.”
